Callahan’s Place is a fictional neighborhood tavern that is part of the Callahan’s Crosstime Saloon stories and its sequels. Located off Route 25A on New York’s Long Island, Callahan’s is marked by a single sign and is set back from the road far enough to be easily missed. Due to the location, walk-ins are rare, as people generally don’t find Callahan’s unless they need to. The bar is run by Mike Callahan and the regulars are welcoming and willing to listen, and strange or unusual events and visitors turn up frequently in their stories. Regulars at Callahan’s include a talking dog, extraterrestrials, time travelers, an ethical vampire, Irish mythological beings, and cybernetic aliens, and an obscenity-spewing parrot.
