The Olympia Brewing Company was a brewery in the northwest United States, located in Tumwater, Washington, near Olympia. Founded in 1896 by Leopold Friederich Schmidt, it was bought by G. Heileman Brewing Company in 1983. Through a series of consolidations, it was acquired by Pabst Brewing Company in 1999; the Tumwater brewery was closed in 2003.

Harlem Nights is a 1989 American crime comedy-drama film starring and directed by Eddie Murphy, who also wrote. The film co-stars Richard Pryor, Michael Lerner, Danny Aiello, Redd Foxx (in his last film appearance before his death in 1991), Della Reese, and Murphy's older brother Charlie. The film was released theatrically on November 17, 1989, by Paramount Pictures. The film tells the story of "Sugar" Ray and Vernest "Quick" Brown as a team running a nightclub in the late 1930s in Harlem while contending with gangsters and corrupt police officials.

The Duquesne Brewing Company was officially incorporated on April 4, 1899. The first president was Henry Miller, formerly a furniture salesman. The original trademark of the brand was a depiction of Fort Duquesne (though it actually featured a depiction of the Fort Pitt Blockhouse with the words "Fort Duquesne" underneath it), and the more recognizable "Prince of Pilsners" trademark was added later. The brewery decided to use refrigerated train cars to ship the beer, an innovative move in the early twentieth century. A Chicago stockyard man, Max Epstein, connected Duquesne with Armour and Company, and had Duquesne's company logo emblazoned on one of the cars. At first sight, the Duquesne reps thought the car was a giant billboard...

Johann Braun opened City Brewery in 1846. Valentin Blatz established a brewery next door in 1850 and merged both breweries upon Braun's death in 1852. After a fire destroyed much of the original brewery in 1872, Blatz was able to enlarge and update his facilities with new brewing technology. In 1875, Blatz was the first Milwaukee brewery to have a bottling department to package beer and ship nationally. It incorporated as the Valentin Blatz Brewing Company in 1889. In 1891, the company sold part of its brewing interests to an English syndicate. By the 1900s it was the city's third-largest brewer. The Dixie Brewing Company is a regional brewery founded in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 31, 1907. The brewing operation was located on Tulane Avenue until 2005 when it closed due to Hurricane Katrina. Beer was contract brewed out-of-state until November 2019 when a new brewery opened in New Orleans. Dixie Brewing was founded by Valentine Merz, and began production in 1907. The original brick Dixie Brewery building at 2401 Tulane Avenue at the corner of Tulane Avenue and Tonti Street was designed by the German architect Louis Lehle and completed in 1907 with a wooden extension added in 1919.

P. Ballantine and Sons Brewing Company was an American brewery founded in 1840, making Ballantine one of the oldest brands of beer in the United States. At its peak, it was the 3rd largest brewer in the US. The brand is currently owned and operated by Pabst Brewing Company. Throughout history it is best known for its Ballantine XXX Ale; however, in August 2014 Ballantine IPA relaunched and has been received with very favorable reviews. This is Pabst's foray into the craft beer market.

The Columbus Brewing Company was founded in 1905 by George Rambour and focused on producing just a couple of brews until the onset of Prohibition in 1917 changed things dramatically. At that point, they incorporated as the “Columbus Beverage Company” decided to continue with the production of a near beer. George Rambour weathered the storm and outlasted the Prohibition era to come out on the other side ready to start brewing again for all to enjoy in Columbus and this time, with a full line of brews. The line up of beers included Pawnee Dark, All-American Draught, All-American Light, All-American Draught Bock, All-American, Bock Beer, and a Holiday Special. Trucks filled with the new brews promptly rolled out a 12:01 am on Aug 10, 1933.

Hell’s Kitchen mobster Larry Fay ran a bootlegging racket running whiskey from Canada to New York in his fleet of city cabs. He opened El Fay on 45th Street to help unload the booze fresh from the north, and hired once-customer Texas Guinan as the boisterous hostess of the club.

Fort Pitt Brewing Company was a major brewery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from 1906-1957, which brewed Fort Pitt Beer and other regional brands. Mark Dudash, a Pittsburgh area attorney and owner of Duquesne Brewing Company, revived Fort Pitt Brewing, and introduced a new Fort Pitt Ale in 2014. The new Fort Pitt Ale is crafted in the spirit of the brewery established in Fort Pitt in 1765, and is formulated as an ale using two row malt, caramel, and English hops. The company had manufacturing plants in Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania and Jeannette, Pennsylvania.

Furniture City Brewing Co. opened in 1933 and closed in 1934 it was open for 1 year. Since it was only open for a short period of time items for this brewery can be accurately dated and are likely to be rarer than normal It was active during Prohibition which makes it an oddity. Some breweries were able to stay in business by producing "near-beer" which was very low alcohol, some switched over to bottling sodas or other beverages, some became Ice-houses or other related businesses. Furniture City Brewing Co. was in an active brewing city. Grand Rapids, MI was listed as having 18 breweries, which is quite a few.
