Jörmungand (pronounced YOUR-man-gand), or Jörmungandr in Old Norse is the "Midgard (Earth) Serpent". He is a tremendous snake whose body is so long that it stretches around the Earth completely! Jörmungandr lurks beneath the waters of Midgard where Norse hero Thor is in constant pursuit of this slippery beast. The poetic Eddas of Norse mythology describe a variety of encounters between Thor and Jörmungandr with Jörmungandr always narrowly escaping Thor's wrath. Finally, in the events of Ragnarok, Thor and Jörmungandr have their final battle! Thor finally kills the phantom creature! After watching the History Channel's programme, Vikings, I was inspired to create this, its been done before but couldn't find one on here and I like vikings, and I know they don't have horns on their helmets but it looks cool.

The berserkers were the most feared of all the Viking warriors. Known in the Norse poems as "Odin's men", they fought in battle with a rage unmatched by any warrior in history. They hacked through anyone that stood in front of them. Their blind fury did not distinguish friend from foe. They were there to kill. Period. In Norse mythology, Mjolnir was the war hammer of Thor, God of thunder, and was the most feared weapon in Norse mythology. Viking Hammer amulets were popular with the Vikings, and throughout their territories; including the British Isles. This original artwork depicts Odin, father of Thor, on the handle of a traditional Viking Hammer, and his beard twisted into Celtic knots that adorn the head of the hammer.

the Elder Futhark Odal rune. It is often associated with and is symbolic of the Norse god, Odin. So, for my interpretation of the rune, I surrounded it with Odin’s “pets.” The Ravens, Huginn and Muninn, and the wolves Geri and Freki.

Freya (Old Norse Freyja, "Lady"), in Scandinavian Viking mythology, was the Norse goddess of love, beauty, fertility, war, gold and magic. She rules in Folkvang, the afterlife realm for brave Viking warriors. Freya rides a chariot pulled by two cats.

I did this bull elk in what could be called a Neo-Celtic or Neo-Nordic style. The stippling and knots are more traditional, but the image has a modern edginess to it. Elk and other antlered species have been a popular archetype representing strength, power, and virility going back to ancient times.

Celtic warriors have been renowned for their prowess on the battlefield since ancient times. They were head hunters, displaying the heads of their slain victims in their homes as trophies, and they charged into battle adorned in blue war paint. This artwork pays homage to the Celtic warrior legacy; specifically, the Irish who have long been known to some of the greatest of the Celtic warriors.

Design featuring a Viking Berserker and a ferocious bear. Berserkers were fierce Viking warriors with extraordinary skill in combat. The word Berserker translates to "bear-shirts" and "champion". According to legends, berserkers were warrior-shamans that had bears as their totem animal. They wore bear-pelts and fought with inhuman ferocity and strength. Rune translation: "Berserker" / "Bersęrkʀ" "Bersęrkʀ" translates to "Berserker" in Old Norse. The translation was done using Norse Long-branch Younger Futhark Viking Age Runes.

Medieval Viking mythology and history was as anti socialist and anti communist as it gets. Norse mythology & pantheon was ruled by masculine gods such as Thor, Odin. This anti communist SJW design is for conservatives who love viking gods & Nordic myths.
