The Burning of Fort Johnston Long Sleeve T-Shirt
Revolutionary War Long Sleeve T-Shirt
designed and sold by Aeriskate
My drawing for #inktober - “ash.” On the night of July 18, 1775, Colonel John Ashe and his New Hanover County regiment were part of the patriot forces that burned Fort Johnston, which had been the headquarters of Royal Governor Josiah Martin. Martin learned of the attack in advance and fled on a British Warship in to the Cape Fear River. He was able to see the flames from his place on the ship. This is my interpretation of this event.
