Never underestimate the power of it.

In folklore, a mermaid is an aquatic creature with the head and upper body of a female human and the tail of a fish. Well, mine is somewhat different, has a humanoid head and torso, no arms, gills and her lower body is an octopus tentacle. Just wanted to make her weird, dark, macabre and monster-like. Little mermaid is probably the most popular story about mermaids, and people think about the cute cartoon version. However, I also heard a lot of stories about evil mermaid-like monsters, like water spirits who kill people (Rusalka) or mythological creatures who lure seamen into their death just by singing their songs. Also, I don’t do normal.

"I know what you want, said the sea-witch" The Sea Witch - The Little Mermaid, Harry Clarke The details in this are incredible. I can only imagine how long it took to draw it. Harry Clarke was a leading Irish stained glass artist and Golden Age illustrator. His line work is very detailed and has a somewhat psychedelic feel to it.
