In 1984, when Dana Barrett first encountered Zuul, her abandoned groceries included a bag of Stay Pufts, and sometime later, a sign advertising them was seen on the side of a building near the firehouse when the storage facility exploded. Needless to say, when it was time to think of the most harmless thing possible, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man was top of mind for Ray and, well, we all know how that turned out...
