Cold War Vet 1st Bn 60th Inf 172nd Mugs

The 1st Battalion, 60 Infantry was assigned to the 172 Infantry Brigade at Fort Richardson, Alaska. The 2d Battalion, 60th Infantry was reactivated on 21 October 1972 at Fort Lewis where it became the first motorized unit in the Army. It was used as an advanced training unit in highly maneuverable tactics using newly outfitted Humvees with TOW missile systems, Mk-19s and M2s. It was the precursor to today's Strykers.

2nd Bn 16th Infantry was assigned on 1 October 1963 to the 1st Infantry Division. The unit was activated at Fort Riley, Kansas with its organic elements concurrently constituted and activated, before being reorganized and redesignated on 2 March 1964 as the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry.

The 33rd Field Artillery Regiment is an inactive field artillery regiment of the United States Army, first constituted in 1918 in the National Army (USA). A parent regiment under the U.S. Army Regimental System, the regiment has no active regiments. The regiment saw active service with the 1st Infantry Division in World War II. The regiment's 2nd and 6th Battalions served in Vietnam. In Germany, the unit was a 155MM Self-Propelled Howitzer Unit. In Vietnam, the unit was armed with the 105MM Towed Howitzer.
