The 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) has been deployed worldwide in support of Operation Just Cause – Panama, Operation Desert Storm – Kuwait/Iraq, Operation Provide Comfort – Northern Iraq, Operation Enduring Freedom – Philippines, Operation Enduring Freedom – Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as several countries in the CENTCOM AOR. The battalion has suffered fatal casualties and casualties which were rehabilitated through the new Wounded Warrior program.

The regiment's campaign honors include Vietnam War. Where it took part in Operation Montana Mauler on the Khe Sanh plateau in 1969,and the United States invasion of Panama in 1989.

Operation Just Cause - On 20 December 1989, the executive order was given to put Operation Just Cause into effect. Task Force "Wildcat" (5th Battalion, 87th Infantry) attacked and seized critical objectives in Panama City to include the Balboa DENI (Direccion Especial Nacional de Investigaciones), the PDF's investigative branch, the DNTT (Direccion Nacional de Transporte Terrestre, which served as the Headquarters of the National Police), the Ancon DENI, and the PDF Engineer complex on Albrook AFB. After two deployments to Panama to prevent hostile actions against U.S. personnel and facilities, the 519th Military Police Battalion returned to Panama on December 20, 1989, and participated in Operation Just Cause to protect U.S. lives, property, and interests in the Republic of Panama.

On Dec. 20, 1989, the entire 75th Ranger Regiment was committed to Operation “Just Cause,” in Panama. Along with 2D Ranger Battalion, Companies A and B, 3rd Battalion conducted an airfield seizure of the Rio Hato Airfield, and Company C participated along with 1st Battalion to seize the Airfield at Torrijos/ Tocumen Airport, and subsequent combat operations contributed significantly to the United States victory in Panama.
