The sweet little Australian bird species, the fairy-wrens, perched over a bunch of roses.

These beautiful birds are like tiny jewels in the bush! Wrens are favourite birds for many Australians - it's easy to see why. They are simply gorgeous, vibrant, and cheerful little birds. This male and female wren pair is depicted here on a native vine, just as I saw them on a walk in Brisbane's Toohey Forest. This design is based from my original watercolour painting.

This beautiful bird was taken in one of my favourite bird-spotting locations, Lake Baroon near Maleny. As with many wrens, the male is brilliantly coloured while the female is a soft brown. Very active in our area in the springtime.

This little Male Superb Fairy-wren popped up next to me and then darted off only giving me seconds to take this shot!
