Nukie is a South African direct to video science-fiction film that was released in 1987. Largely considered an E.T. knockoff, the plot follows an alien named Nukie, who crash lands on Earth and seeks help from two children to reunite with his brother, Miko, who has been captured by the U.S. government. Nukie is considered one of the worst movies ever made, and had pretty limited distribution, resulting in somewhat of a cult following. An online auction for a graded copy of Nukie sold for $80,600, making it the most expensive VHS tape in history.

Made in U.S.A is a 1966 French crime comedy film written and directed by Jean-Luc Godard, and starring Anna Karina, László Szabó, Jean-Pierre Léaud, Marianne Faithfull, Yves Afonso, and Jean-Claude Bouillon. It was a loose and unauthorized adaptation of the 1965 novel The Jugger by Richard Stark (an alias of Donald E. Westlake), and was also inspired by the 1946 Howard Hawks film The Big Sleep (which was, in turn, an adaptation of the 1939 novel of the same name by Raymond Chandler).

Long before streaming movies and online shopping was a thing, you had to hunt and peck for hard to find movies on VHS, especially those in the horror genre. If you were lucky, you had a mom and pop video store in your neighborhood that shared an interest in obscure cinema and carried stuff that the chain video rental places didn’t. For most of us, this meant finding a distribution company that sold direct via mail order, and Midnight Video was one such distributor. Midnight Video specialized in hard to find movies on VHS, most of which were horror films. They sold through ads in the back of horror magazines and comic books, so Cinephiles would send off a check or money order, and wait for their tapes to arrive.

The Dorm That Dripped Blood is a 1982 American slasher film that follows four college students who stay on campus over the Christmas break. The students are tasked with cleaning out a condemned dormitory, when an unknown assailant begins stalking and murdering them. Filmed on a Los Angeles college campus in December 1981, the film was originally released in the United States and United Kingdom under the title Pranks in 1982. When its distributors found the title to not be conducive to box-office sales, the film was re-titled The Dorm That Dripped Blood and re-released in 1983. In the United Kingdom, it suffered significant censorship due to its graphic violence, earning its inclusion on the British film "video nasty" list.

Black Roses is a 1988 horror film about a devil worshiping metal band who has made a deal with the devil. The story is based in the sleepy town of Mill Basin as satanic heavy metal band Black Roses is coming to town for one night only to raise hell… literally! Infused with the power of the devil, the band’s music demonically possesses the kids in the audience, turning them into bloodthirsty demons. The blood flows as they go on a rampage, culminating in a fiery battle between man and ultimate evil straight out of the underworld. The film's soundtrack featured many rock and metal bands of the era, and the movie is routinely referenced for its great use of practical effects.

2001's Ghost World is the story of neo-cool Enid and Rebecca, who, faced with graduation from high school, take a hard look at the world they wryly observe and decide what they really want. When Enid takes an interest in the offbeat Seymour and Rebecca focuses her attention on their mutual romantic fixation, Josh, the girls' friendship is forever changed. This design is based on Enid's cool raptor shirt that she wears in several scenes of the film.
