St Elmo Merch

Fort St Elmo is situated at the end of the peninsula which houses the city of Valletta and is positioned to give it a view of both the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett Harbour, with a history going back centuries. It played an enormous part in defending Malta during The Great Siege by the Ottoman Empire in 1565. Today it houses the National War Museum and The Siege Bell war memorial. This image shows the fort from The Grand Harbour on a sunny October morning.

This image was taken from Rinella Creek within the Grand Harbour of Valletta on the island of Malta. The two forts on either side of the harbour entrance can be seen in this shot with Fort St Elmo on the left and Fort Ricasoli on the right with the clear blue sky reflecting in the waters of the harbour turning them deep blue in the sunshine.
