Black Dragon Fighting Society 1967 Sticker
Martial Arts Sticker
designed and sold by JCD666
If you've read late '60s or early '70s comic books, then you're probably heard of the Black Dragon Fighting Society. Founded in 1967 by karate master, John Keehan, billed himself as "The Deadliest Man Alive" under the name 'Count Danté,' the mysterious sounding martial arts group advertised relentlessly through full-page ads in comic books. One had only to mail order his World's Deadliest Fighting Secrets instruction book to receive a free Black Dragon Fighting Society membership. Danté was disillusioned with conventional karate's focus on ceremony, tradition and protocol over what he felt to be effectiveness and developed his own style that he called street-effective.
