I messed up a beautiful painting of blue Irises by Vincent Van Gogh to add in a few characters from a very early copy of Alice in Wonderland. The pictures from the early copy of the book were wildly painted. The colors seemed to bleed into one another in the oddest of places. Well, for other oddballs like me, maybe you’ll appreciate this one.

The White Rabbit is a fictional and anthropomorphic character in Lewis Carroll's 1865 book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. He appears at the very beginning of the book, in chapter one, wearing a waistcoat, and muttering "Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!" Alice follows him down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Alice encounters him again when he mistakes her for his housemaid Mary Ann and she becomes trapped in his house after growing too large. The Rabbit shows up again in the last few chapters, as a herald-like servant of the King and Queen of Hearts.

The classic character from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures In Wonderland comes to life in this portrait painting.

This black cat design is inspired by vintage 1930's cartoon style, and the Cheshire Cat, of Wonderland. Proudly designed by Nat Ewert! This is the *red outline* version. The white and green outlined versions are also in my shop!

Lewis Carroll's original hand written manuscript of 'Wonderland' included his own gothic styled illustrations. Alice's meeting with the Gryphon and the Mock Turtle has a particularly melancholic atmosphere. (More designs like this in The Blue Box)
