Joe Blair was a private detective. When a defense manufacturer hired him to investigate the inexplicable defections of his workers, he decided to use it as an opportunity to test his new invention and become a crime-fighter known as Zippo. Zippo was a moderately skilled detective. He has low-level super-speed thanks to his costume's wheeled feet. The wheels were powered by compressed air and controlled using his belt. With the wheels, Zippo could travel up to 65 mph.

Follow Piper and Dylan, detectives by day and members of a rock band by night, as they tour the country playing music and solving crimes.

"Knight Rider, a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless in a world of criminals who operate above the law." That was the narration that opened the 1982 TV drama, Knight Rider. While that gives a pretty good general overview, a more detailed synopsis goes something like this: Reborn, so to speak, after getting shot in the face, Knight dedicates his life to fighting for justice. Billionaire Wilton Knight hires Michael to be the lead field agent in his Knight Foundation's public justice organization, part of which includes the development of KITT, a superpowered, intelligent souped-up Pontiac Trans-Am.

Rollo P. Quinn (Little Dynamite) was a young leader of a kid gang. He lived in a slum in New York's East Side. He got his nickname because he was a strong fighter with a hair-trigger temper. Rollo did have a soft spot for his older sister, who pretty much raised him. As the years went on, Rollo started to mellow out, and his gang spent more and more time fighting crime.

Ace Williams, known as the Ace of the Newsreels, was both a cameraman and journalist. He was assisted by his attractive reporter sidekick Jessica Frances Gibbons, who went by the nickname Foggy. They covered the news in cities such as Hopeville, Circleville, and Capital City. However they did not only report the news, they also fought crime.

Denis Knight was a wealthy American sportsman who inspired by the chivalrous knights of the past, becomes the Green Knight. In this identity, Denis becomes a defender of the defenseless and keeper of justice. While patrolling the Everglades, Denis discovers a young boy has been kidnapped by a blood thirsty Vampire and his hulking minion. After saving the young boy, Lance Cooper, from the monsters, Green Knight adopts him as his crime fighting partner Lance. Green Knight had no powers but he was skilled with a bow/arrow and a sword. He was also capable at hand to hand combat.

Marine Sergeant Terry Gardner, a former private detective and former champion wrestler, tangles with some Germans, who seek to murder Wilmer, the man Gardner is protecting. A gypsy is killed. The gypsy's parrot, named Snoopy, helps Gardner to avenge his owner's death. Snoopy visits Gardner and inspires him by giving him a card telling him that "At Twilight you will be Master." Thus inspired, Terry buys a costume for himself and begins fighting crime as Twilight.

Buzz was an amateur ham radio enthusiast whose father was murdered by gangsters. Later, he installs a "super-electron tube" in his radio as a power booster,but it accidentally turns his radio invisible. He converts this invisibility technology into a belt that could turn him invisible. Assisted by his friend, Will Lawrence, Buzz sets out to fight crime and uphold justice using his amazing new technology.

Black Satan was a district attorney during the day, but at night, he became the Black Satan to fight against crime. He had no powers, but he did carry a special gun that could blind his foes temporarily.

Gary Kennedy and his brother were shot down by criminals. He vowed to return from the dead to avenge his brother's death - and he did, becoming a ghost with the ability to be super strong when solid and fly or possess people as a ghost. He used his new ghostly powers to fight crime.

Created by TV hit maker, Glen A. Larson, Manimal was anything but. The show only lasted eight episodes and has been widely panned as one of the worst shows of all time, but has managed to carve out a cult following over the years. The show centered around Jonathan Chase, who had the ability to transform into animal form, and used that ability to fight crime. Hey, we told you it was bad.

Shorter than average Stubby Watson was the crime fighter known as the Blue Monk. The Blue Monk was assisted in his war on crime by three ex-crooks: Gypo, Scorpion, and the Human Fly, also a woman named Satana.

Rusty Adams works by day as a copy boy for the Daily Herald. When danger threatens, however, he puts on a costume and becomes "Crash Kid, boy nemesis to gangdom!" He has no superpowers.

Grant Richmond was a little-respected junior partner at the law firm of Fuddy and Bustle who felt that the legal system made as much sense as the work of Lewis Carroll. So by night, he put on a costume and became the Mad Hatter. He can shine his top hat insignia against walls to strike fear into criminals, and he also speaks in rhyme.
