Originally a leather bar with an obvious western theme when it opened in 1974, this West Village gay bar eventually played host to a rather diverse crowd with campy drag shows in it's latter years up until it's closing in 2014. This design celebrates Boots & Saddle's earliest incarnation that would end up becoming a 40-year old icon of New York's diverse LGBT scene.

The Falstaff Brewing Corporation was a major American brewery located in St. Louis, Missouri. With roots in the 1838 Lemp Brewery of St. Louis, the company was renamed after the Shakespearean character Sir John Falstaff in 1903. Production peaked in 1965 with 7,010,218 barrels brewed, and then dropped 70% in the next 10 years. While its smaller labels linger on today, its main label Falstaff Beer went out of production in 2005. The rights to the brand are currently owned by Pabst Brewing Company.

The Wonka Bar is a fictional chocolate bar, introduced as a key story point in the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Wonka Bars appear in each film adaptation of the novel: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971); Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005); and Wonka (2023). The bar also appeared in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical (2013). Wonka Bars were created by Quaker Oats (in conjunction with the producers of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory). The movie was funded largely by Quaker Oats for the intention of promoting the soon to be released Wonka Bars.

Martini's Bar - It's A Wonderful Life

The Boar’s Nest is a fictional business from the film Moonrunners, and the The Dukes of Hazzard TV series and films. The fictional Boar’s Nest is based on the real Boar’s Nest bar from the area where Jerry Rushing used to run moonshine. His stories were the basis for both Moonrunners and The Dukes of Hazzard. It is a bar—that also sells gas, and serves food—owned by Boss Rainey/Hogg where the people of Shiloh/Hazzard County meet and socialize. The Boars Nest t-shirt includes an authentic take on the original TV series signs and billboards along with a realistic vintage treatment with plenty of cracking and chipping to give it an authentic 70s look.

The existence of Belle Glade is due to the federal project of draining the land around Lake Okeechobee in Florida so that the acreage could be used for agriculture. The rich soil which was previously submerged was mucky, so the town (and much of the surrounding area) became known by the nickname Muck City. The town, which included the Golden Eagle Bar, was built in 1925 and subsequently destroyed three years later by a hurricane which killed thousands of people. The small town was subsequently rebuilt, including the Golden Eagle, which continued to serve the local population along with the many agricultural workers for decades into the future.

Arnold's Beach Bar bills itself as "Waikiki's last tiki bar." I have no idea if that's true or not, but I do know that it's a genuine dive bar that's been around for decades and this design's vintage treatment makes it a look you picked it up back in the 80s.

The Uptown Bar and Cafe was one of the neighborhood's most-loved restaurants. But Uptown was forced to close in 2009 to make way for new construction. The redevelopment is a financial boon for the estate of Frank Toonen, 88, who has owned the bar going back to the 1950s. Toonen isn't the guy who made it into a rock venue, though. He sold the place in 1984 to famed concert promoter Ray Colihan, aka Big Reggie, who helped turn it into a bustling music venue before he died in 1986. Frank's son, Kenny Toonen, took it over in the mid-'90s and killed live music there for several years. Business slumped, though, and bands were invited back. By all accounts, the bar has done well since then.

The debate over the location of the Dino's Bar & Grill has rattled on for years. Phil Lynott always avoided giving it a location, saying the song was about guys anywhere in the world going out for a weekend pint and a fight. Years after Phil's death Scott Gorham said Dinos was named after Dean Martin's Sunset Strip joint of the same name. But Gorham was Californian so would most likely think in terms of LA; also Martin's place was certainly not somewhere that "blood would spill" and most importantly it wasn't written by Scott. We preferred Phil's vision, so went for Dublin so as to link the design back to the original Thin Lizzy inspiration.

Lacey, Washington, was originally called Woodland after settlers Isaac and Catherine Wood, who claimed land there in 1853. When the railroad came through in 1891, residents decided it was time to apply for a post office. The request was denied because there was already a town called Woodland on the Columbia River. They decided to call the city Lacey and got a post office, though the city of wasn't officially incorporated until 1966. One year later, The Loose Caboose Tavern opened in Lacey, and quickly became a popular watering hole for the locals, many of which commuted to Olympia, Fort Lewis, and to some extent, Tacoma, for work, but came how every night to tie one on at their favorite tavern,

The St. Paul drive-in’s red-and-white checkered building, which closed this month, will be moved from University Avenue to the Little Log House Pioneer Village six miles south of Hastings. It will become part of a 160-acre collection of more than 50 historical buildings.

Mr. Duck at the Lemonad

Founded in 1987 on North Carolina's Cape Fear, Teach's Tavern was a pirate-themed bar that played up the owner's (alleged) lineage shared with Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, the English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the eastern coast of Britain's North American colonies. The legend of Blackbeard and all pirate kitsch aside, Teach's Tavern was actually a pretty great spot that became known not only for the sunsets from their beachfront patio, but their surprisingly good tavern food which was all made from scratch in their on-site kitchen. Of course, there was no shortage of beers on tap and top-shelf cocktails, but a good number of their regulars were there for the PBR in cans and well drink specials.
