Erin Go Bragh, or Ireland forever is an English derivation of the phrase Éirinn go Brách in the Irish language. By 1847, it was already in use as “Erin Go Bragh”. The term brách is equivalent to “eternity” or “end of time,” meaning the phrase may be translated literally as “Ireland until eternity” or “Ireland to the end (of time).” For most of us, the phrase is synonymous with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Have a pint of Guiness, and enjoy!
