The Great Seal Of The Southern Ute Indian Tribe features numerous symbols with profound meanings. The red words surrounding the seal represent the circle of life and the symbols inside represent the life of the Southern Ute people. Those things include the mountains, forest, wildlife, and aspects of farming, ranching and the oil industry. The Native American head in the center represents the tribe as an individual and incorporates all the colors of the rainbow. The peace pipe is symbolic of a peaceful nature. Twp feathers stand for a beliefe in the Great Spirit and the Healing Power of the People. Representing the Ute's homeland is the Colorado state flag.
