I’ve been curious about the myths and folklore about Wolverines for a while since they live just a bit further up the mountain here and is one of our larger predators. So when my friend Jonquil asked me to write a blog post about them, I couldn’t resist. And then I had to make a video from the post as well, to spread the info further. I made this drawing in relation to that video.
I created this Octopus for my blog, as a symbol of us multi-passionates on a blog post "Being a multi-passionate is both a blessing and a curse". I made it using watercolour and a fine-liner.
You can find the link to my blog through the link in my bio. Go there and read it to find out what this is all about.
The Hedgehog may look like it’s only a small, sweet and cute thing but it is a hunter and very resourceful. And it has a very effective defence. Unfortunately, their numbers have been going down. Some of the reasons are a lack of suitable hibernation sites, traffic and people giving them milk. (I’ve shared a link on my fb profile about how you can help them if you want to do that.)
Hedgehogs have their wisdom as an animal spirit as well. Mostly relating to being curious and resourceful while still protecting yourself. Being close to Earth, being true to yourself, focusing on joy and staying calm and practical.
Hedgehogs are in trouble. I will donate 10% of the money generated by this art print to an organization working to save them
I created a colourful background and had been wanting to do something more with it. This is what it became. To be completely honest, my daughter picked the Toad out of a couple of alternatives.
I drew the Toad in with pencil and covered everything outside it with a layer of Gesso. Then I used a sharpie to create the lines before filling in some more colour in acrylics.
My other colourful amphibians needed a pal, so I created this salamander in watercolour to keep them company. I also made a video of the process which you can watch on youtube.
I started with a light sketch on watercolour paper and then created a background using three colours. Then I added the outline with a black marker.
