The 1980s - a time when the popularity of home video and video nasties complimented each other perfectly.
And no matter what people say, or which tape won the format wars, the Betamax was by far the better quality cassette!
Films distributed by notorious home video label Go Video could be found behind the counter of every video store in the UK - they were responsible for bringing video nasties such as Cannibal Holocaust and SS Experiment Camp into the home (and the grapevine of every schoolyard) in the late 70s and early 80s.
He may be a General after word of his manoeuvre at the Battle of Taanab got out but at heart Lando Calrissian will always be a card player, gambler and a scoundrel.

The last thing you want to see when you open your curtains in the morning is a gigantic planet devouring alien coming over the horizon. Sadly, too many people have woken to this sight.
Only The Fantastic Four (and maybe The Avengers) can save us now!

Jay & Silent Bob found out, in Dogma, to their dismay, that the Chicago suburb-town of Shermer, Illinois, was actually an entirely fictional place, dreamed up by the master of the 80s teen comedy/drama - John Hughes.
Many of the films he wrote or directed were set in the same fictitious universe. In a 1999 interview he revealed the scale of this "Shermer-verse". 15 years worth of notebooks detailed how Ferris Bueller (FB's Day Off) was friends with Sam Baker (16 Candles), John Bender (The Breakfast Club) lived three doors down from Del Griffiths (Planes, Trains & Automobiles) and so on. What a shame his untimely death meant we did not get to see this 'verse expanded upon.
The bulldog mascot was briefly mention in Ferris Buelle...

Inspired by the DVD cover from Batman Begins, this idea incorporates that image, of the bats, with the instantly recognisable silhouette of one of Britain's greatest ever directors, Alfred Hitchcock, and one of his most well loved thrillers, The Birds.
Fake illness, fool parents, ring the school, fool the Dean of Students, pick up best friend (in his dad’s car), collect girlfriend, fool the Dean of Students, drive to Chicago, get up to crazy antics, fool the Dean of Students, drop off friend (destroy his dad’s car), get home in time to beat parents (and jealous sister), fool the Dean of Students one last time. Relax.

Four iconic cars from four iconic British sitcoms. From top to bottom:
• Joey Boswell’s Mark II Jaguar from Bread (with Joey’s mobile phone).
• Del Boy and Rodney’s ‘Three Wheeler’ Reliant Regal Supervan from Only Fools And Horses.
• Mr. Bean’s 1976 Mini 1000 (with door-bolt and padlock for extra security and Mr. Bean’s Teddy Bear).
• Basil Fawlty’s 1972 Austin 1300 Countryman Estate.
I don’t normally include people on my cars designs but that unreliable Austin did need a damn good thrashing!
