The fearsome Red Baron, Manfred Von Richthofen has a relaxing wine and cheese break next to his stunning Fokker Dr.1 triplane during ww1. For some reason I thought he might be a blue cheese man, I mean dog! lol.
The De Havilland Comet was a cup winning air racer and nearly became tasked with bombing Berlin in a plot to kill Adolf Hitler. A very worthy air racer and would-be warbird

Today the dogs are chillin between sorties reading a few books and listening to the Grammar Phone. This is Spitfire Mk Vc AR501 in the livery of No 310 Czech squadron based today at the Shuttleworth Collection UK.
It's a slow day for the Dogs of War as they play chess and sleep under mighty wings of the De Havilland Mosquito. This version is a bomber variant and is based on a plane you can visit at the De Havilland Aircraft museum in the UK.

The first Dogs of War outing for a great war aircraft is the famous Sopwith Camel. Unfortunately the pilot might have trouble getting into the air when the ground crew are intent on playing badminton. Tally ho chaps!
The Lysander is most famous for being a spy taxi tasked with taking secret agents into occupied Europe by night. It was well suited for landing on improvised airstrips and had the capacity to carry 2 agents and covert supplies.

The Percival Mew Gull was a British racing aircraft of the 1930s and considered by some to be "the Holy Grail of British air racing".
Although not fighting aircraft the development of air racers helped make planes faster and more maneuverable and influenced the development of military aviation as well as taught pilots skills they would need in times of conflict.

The weather is to bad to fly so the Dogs of War have decided to have a snowball fight instead. With a robin perched on the tail and snow all around it almost feels festive. This scene features one of the most advanced Russian fighter aircraft of WW2 the Yak 3.
This beautiful and rugged aircraft is a Hawker Sea Hurricane possessing modifications making it suitable for maritime operations. I captured the moment an exhausted pilot rests on the wing and a concerned ground crew member offers the pilot a much needed sandwich and cup of tea. The plane has taken a few hits but true to its nature it's brought the pilot home safely. The real thing can be seen at the Shuttleworth Collection, UK.

The He 162 officially called the Sparrow or Spatz in German was a single seat Jet fighter fielded by the German Luftwaffe at the end of the second world war. Apart from rocket fighters like the Me 163 this was the fastest conventional aircraft in the air at the time topping out at 562mph at 20,000ft. Unfortunately however for its pilots it was unreliable and very difficult to fly.
At last the dogs of war have a P47, the Jug as it was know to its pilots was named not for its size, as in juggernaut, but for the fact that someone at some point thought that if up ended and balanced on its nose its fuselage looked like a classic American milk jug. In any case it was a massive fighter plane known for being fast and very rugged. It had 8 50,cal machine guns in the wings and packed a huge bunch. Pilots of the P47 found it was excellent in a dive but not so great in a dogfight against more agile fighters like the Bf109. Therefore they perfected the Boom and Zoom. Dive on the enemy guns blazing and then use the momentum to fly back up to altitude whether a kill was made or not. If a pilot wanted to live a long hand happy life

The next installment of the dogs of war is the Spitfire. This is a late war version with a griffon rather than a Merlin engine, its also longer and wider than the earlier models. The pilot in this one is enjoying a rare rest between sorties to have tea with his lady love.

Baron Von Richtofen was shot down on 21 April 1918 during the final year of the First World War. This was the engine from his Fokker Triplane. For the uninitiated it's an Oberusal UR2 radial engine.
Anti-gravity technology in an unrealized fiction mixed in with a healthy dose of conspiracy theory on the side. But imagine for a second that it did work, was highly dangerous and could be built at home as part of a somewhat retro week by week magazine subscription. Enter Forbidden Science weekly.

The tiger 2, king tiger or more correctly in German the Konigstiger which translates to royal tiger was the biggest baddest tank of ww2. Armour that never failed during a frontal assault and a gun capable of destroying any other known opponent at long range. This one is firing off a shot and upsetting a number of the crew who may not have been expecting it.

The Lysander was a ww2 aircraft famously used in many special operations mission to land agents into enemy territory. Its ability to carry a large load of equipment and land and take off from short unprepared runways made it a very successful aircraft in this role

The Bearcat was probably the best piston engined naval fighter every built. Arriving to late to see service in world war 2 it still served admirably in other conflicts and out performed many of the early jet aircraft.
When I was kid the defiant was the very first Airfix model had and at some point after that I build a Bristol Blenheim Mk 4. I knew nothing about planes than but since I have been luck enough to spend a fair amount of time around the newly restored Mk1 at Duxford. It had a rough time during the war and when you see it up close it looks obsolete by late WW2 standards. Slow and poorly defended it look much more at home at an airshow that on a bombing run. Still a very beautiful aircraft all the same.
Flat track was and is a type of motorcycle racing similar in many ways to speedway.but with differing rules and riding style. This design is for anyone whole loves a bit of vintage motorcycle style
The Great Wave Off Kanagawa is an artwork that has seeped into the public eye so much so that it even has an emoji. The original image is a woodblock print by the Japanese artist Hokusai. It was published sometime between 1829 and 1833. Today its image and its style crops up all over the art world.
Given that the sea is featured so prominently in this image I wanted to show how much an image like this is suffering under the pressure of the modern world and if the scene took place today it could well be swimming in plastic pollution.
I’ve created this design to raise awareness and contribute to fighting the causes and supporting the solutions to the horrendous problem of plastic pollution
