Probably the most photographed castle in Northern England - But with views and morning skies like this, who can't resist the wonderful Bamburgh Castle. Standing proud and defiant on the Northumbrian coastline, Bamburgh remains a favourite tourist spot and rarely fails to have a photographer taking an image.

On the north east coast Bamburgh Castle is popular for tourists and locals to visit .And very close to the fishing town and the farne islands.

The Bamburgh castle we see today is a relatively recent structure, but the castle boasts a much longer history. There have been settlements on the site since prehistoric times. The Monument to Grace Darling in the churchyard of St Aidan's Church in Bamburgh, a village in Northumberland on the north-east coast of England. Grace Darling was born in 1815, the daughter of the lighthouseman at Longstone Lighthouse. In 1838, she became a national heroine when she and her father rescued nine people from the wreck of the SS Forfarshire which had run aground off Big Harcar, an island off the Northumbrian coast. Grace Darling died in 1842, aged only 26.
