Whooper swans migrate from the frozen wastes of Siberia at the end of October and fly south for the winter months. We have thousands of them here in UK right now and they are lovely to watch when they arrive in small flocks. I have tried to imagine a part of their journey in this painterly image, edited in Photoshop CC and Topaz with my own textures.

A couple of Whooper swans flapping their wings at one another and a trio of geese flying overhead as the sun sets on a misty lake. We have had thousands of these beautiful swans down in the UK for the winter, they arrive at about the same time as the Pink footed geese in October and are leaving to fly north to breed about now in mid March. This is a composite of some of my own photos and textures, blended together in Photoshop CC and Topaz.

Soon we will be welcoming thousands of beautiful Whooper swans that winter near here along the shore and at nearby Martin Mere. They come all the way from Siberia and spend about 5 months with us before flying back to nest and rear their young. It is a beautiful sight to see them arriving, sometimes in two's and threes and sometimes in large flocks. Edited in Photoshop and Topaz studio.

The census highlights trends in the birds' health that are reflected across the country... but did you know that HRH protections don't just stop there..? As times have changed, certain royal representatives have become increasingly committed to conserving natural wonders... Its to be expected that Royals and Royal birds enjoy 'swanning around'... and Why not...??? Some of my Welsh friends would see it otherwise... Such Regal birds and monarchs alike are the 'pomp and ceremony' of our temperate climate... and to add to that ~ our Welsh Tourism and swanky hotels are dependent upon such Royal Patronage... We would be nothing without our Castles..! Wales is at the *forefront of monopolising on heritage*, with over 600 Castles, we should capitalise on that... and ensure that our *biodiversity, and natural heritage* is a hive of activity, yet sustainably managed and an exemplary magnet - for others to 'gravitate' towards...

Even if you enter the dirty water, stay neat like a white swan!
