ust this past year a friend of mine introduced me to Sally O’Malley. An outrageously loud, self-confident, flexible woman in a Lycra red jumpsuit, 1970’s bouffant hairdo and small handbag announcing to the world she is Sally O’Malley and she likes to “kick, stretch and kick” because she’s 50!

Halloween Town is a fantasy world populated by various monsters and beings associated with the holiday ("This is Halloween"). Jack Skellington, who is respected by the citizens as the "Pumpkin King", leads them in organizing the annual Halloween celebrations, but he has grown tired of the same annual routine and wants something new ("Jack's Lament"). While wandering in the woods the next morning, he encounters several trees containing doors leading to other holiday-themed worlds (Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, Independence Day, Valentine's Day, and St. Patrick's Day) and stumbles into a door leading to Christmas Town ("What's This?").

"Seasons Beatings" haunts the air like a chilling carol, its melody a twisted lullaby that echoes through the desolate streets. The frosty breath of malevolent spirits whispers through frosted windows, carrying the ghostly scent of gingerbread turned sour. A ghastly choir of spectral children sings of an otherworldly Claus, his sleigh pulled not by reindeer but by skeletal nightmares. In the dead of night, beware the frozen breath of "Seasons Beatings," for in this cursed Christmas tale, the gift beneath the tree may be a nightmare waiting to unwrap you.

Estelle Reiner, director Rob Reiner’s mom, actually delivered this side-splitting line after Meg Ryan, as Sally, effectively proves to Harry (Billy Crystal) that he doesn’t understand women as well as he thinks he does.
