The Montreal Expos (French: Les Expos de Montréal) was a baseball team located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada from 1969 until 2004. After the 2004 season, the franchise was relocated by their owners to Washington, D.C. and became the Nationals. The team retained a portion of the Expos' records, player contracts, and minor league affiliates, as well as their spring training complex in Viera, Florida. The Expos' logo was one of the more unique in baseball history, featuring a stylized "M" for Montreal, also forming a red "e" for Expos, and a blue "b" for baseball, coming together as "Montreal Expos Baseball" though it's often said to read "elb" as and stand for "Expos League Baseball" which despite its popularity, is incorrect.
