The Middle Texas League began play the franchises based in Bartlett, Texas (Bartlett Bearcats), Belton, Texas (Belton Braves), Brenham, Texas (Brenham Brewers), Lampasas, Texas (Lampasas Resorters) and Temple, Texas (Temple Tigers) joining Georgetown in league play.
