I just instantly knew when I took this image that it was a good capture! After studying birds in flight for quite some time on my travels this shot exemplifies the splay of the bird at the top of its wing beat ~ just as it was coming to branch. The movement of the forest in part was due to the whisper of the breeze through the pine trees and also from an ever so slight - yet rapid 'panning motion' in capturing this piece in action! It was taken with a 560mm Pentax telephoto lens and Pentax K3 which I have been working towards mastery with for quite some time...
