St. Louis Cathedral at Jackson Square in New Orleans by Debra Martz In May we spent 3-1/2 days in New Orleans walking walking walking and riding street cars to see the sights. Most days there was a threat of rain so we had disposable panchos and umbrellas which, luckily, we never had to use. The rains came, but in the middle of the night. This venerable building, its triple steeples towering above its historic neighbors, the Cabildo and the Presbytere - looks down benignly on the green of the Square and General Andrew Jackson on his bronze horse and on the block-long Pontalba Buildings with their lacy ironwork galleries.
