One thing we hear time and again from designers is that they wish they had more time to make new art. We wanted to find some ways to make the creative process easier for you, so we put together some easy ways to save time making art!

To start out, find ways to get inspired! If you’re struggling to create new work simply because you don’t know what you should make, browsing art blogs is a fantastic way to kick-start your imagination.

There are also dozens of Subreddits out there with the sole purpose of providing people with artistic ideas! Check out communities like r/SketchDaily, r/DailyDraw, or r/DrawingPrompts. Take advantage of Reddit’s search system to seek out even more specific communities!

New to Photoshop and not sure how to use all of the tools available within it? There’s no shortage of free lessons out there, so check out some tutorials! Trying out the software and playing around with it is a great way to get comfortable using it and trying new things.

Photoshop not your thing? There are also some awesome free websites that you can use to create your art. Want to make cool 8-bit images? Check out Pixilart! In the mood to sketch? Take a look at Sketchpad. Vectors your thing? Download Vectornator and give it a whirl!

If you use Photoshop, there are tons of free downloadable brushes available that can help you create unique designs in new and exciting styles.

Sign up for websites that offer freebies! Creative Market offers 6 free downloads every Monday that typically includes a variety of cool fonts, shapes, icons, and sketches that you can use to build up new pieces. The free downloads will sometimes include tools for social media self-promotion as well - win-win!

Edit and design vector files on Vecteezy like a pro! This option is great if you’re just starting out making digital art, or aren’t using Photoshop, Illustrator, or GIMP.

Brush up on your knowledge of public domain items available for commercial use, and find ones that speak to you to include in your designs! Sites like Public Domain Vector have easy-to-use search engines that can point you to a ton of results for practically any subject you could think of.

It’s important to note that each of these sites has their own legal terms and conditions for use of their assets, so please be sure to do a thorough read-through of the copyright policy for each one.
