Pete’s Italian Grocery 1946 Crewneck Sweatshirt

After the end of World War II, an Italian immigrant named Pete married and purchased a small grocery in the lower level of Seattle's Pike Place Market from his retiring mother-in-law. Simply calling it 'Pete’s Italian Grocery,' Pete proceeded to rework the store into a gourmet specialty shop, carrying traditional Italian foods and ingredients, something that was quite exotic for Seattle at the time. From fresh mozzarella and Chianti, to pane Toscano and extra virgin Umbrian olive oils, Pete’s Italian Grocery helped make what were once exotic imports into much loved staples.
