The British aviators John William Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown did not pass few calamities on their transatlantic flight between June 14 and 15, 1919. Mechanical failures, fog, ice on the wings, extreme cold, difficulties only suitable for adventurous spirits, motivated by overcoming established limits as impossible. Due to a failure in the electric generator, they could not use their heated suits apart from having to endure a deafening engine noise that prevented communication. In spite of everything they could reach their destination and with them the 196 letters and a package becoming the first transoceanic postal flight.
