Starkholmes, Derbyshire, September 2021 Starkholmes is a small village just south of Matlock (Derbyshire, England). The village offers fine views across the Derwent Valley to the Heights of Abraham, and overlooks one of Britain's first tourist resorts, Matlock Bath, in the valley below. Some of the roads in the village are a little steep, but the views are worth the climb, and the cable car station (10 minutes walk downhill from the village) give the place an almost an Alpine feel, though you won't hear cow bells or yodelling! The village pub, the White Lion, is also well worth a visit. Date: 7th September 2021.
