As the clouds that had followed us for the morning slowly broke up, they turned the sky into a crazy puzzle with pieces that didn't quite fit together. When we stopped at Lower Waterfowl Lake to capture them, we found some piles of ice that fit right in with the scene; being -20º though, we decided not to try to fit all the icy puzzle pieces together!

The title is an homage to Bob Dylan's album, Blood on the Tracks, and being this was photographed on the side of a grain car ON THE TRACKS, it seemed fairly appropriate. It feels almost tribal.

I came across this while tidying up during the COVID19 lock down. I did it a very long time ago and had forgotten its existence. It is a gouache and ink work with some collaged pieces. It seems an appropriate work at the moment when many people are probably ready to crack up under the stress of events.
