Double locks on the Exeter Ship Canal was a regular pub for me, a walk along the canal bank gave you a thirst. I would often go there with my brothers Bruce and Neil, I decided it was time to do a painting of the Pub called double locks for my brother Bruce, and here it is. I included him standing on the canal bank in his Chelsea Floorball top. I gave the original to him as a birthday present, but you can have it in any product Redbubble produce.

I often pass this barn as I travel to our cottage. It always catches my eye, sitting as it does so tidily and alone in a field. The barn appears to be in great condition, unlike so many of its vintage. Offset from the barn are a terrific quartet of conifers, which provide balance to the image, Judging by the spacing between them, there was probably a fifth in there at one time. I'm guessing, but there was probably a farm house there at as well. The morning light provides a golden glow to the old barn boards and the fresh snow gives the whole image a sparkle. I hope you like it.

The original is currently for sale.

The Bridge Inn Topsham where my brothers and I play folk music, we have been going here for over fifty years on and off, they sell real ale and its one of the oldest independent pubs in the United Kingdom. Queen Elizabeth stopped here for a drink when she was on a tour of Devon and they brewed a special beer. A great painting and conversation piece to have on your wall.

Topsham was my childhood playground, my brothers and I would walk from Whipton where we lived and play in and around Topsham, sometimes getting the rowing boat (One man ferry) across to the Exeter ship canal and walk back that way. I love all the little villages around here and still like to visit now and then. I still have another of Topsham that has stayed on my easel for a year now and need finishing. but here we are you can enjoy this one in print. Topsham is a suburb of Exeter in the county of Devon, England, on the east side of the River Exe, immediately north of its confluence with the River Clyst and the former's estuary, between Exeter and Exmouth

The fishermen are out early on the river Exe near Exmouth and Star Cross. There is still a mist hanging over the trees and the sun is starting to rise promising a nice day if it can burn off the mist. In the distance the geese are awake and flying past making a racket as they fly, Painted in Oils on a 30 by 20 Canvas. If your a fisherman you will know what I mean.
