Majestic Boat is a nautical art print I created using an abstract watercolor technique. The technique creates an illusion of detail, but is really just sharp shapes of precise color. The setting is a harbor lined by a New England fishing village. All around the harbor are docks and moors for the many boats that call the harbor home. New England is infamous for its fishing industry and the towns that support it. A small fishing village during sunrise.

This is a view I see nearly every morning when I walk down to the village, Las Negras in Almeria, Spain. A couple of weeks ago this attractive fishing boat, not from Las Negras, was moored for a few days in the perfect spot to make it a focal point of the composition. The fishermen working on the boat, the reflections in the water and the seagulls flying around add life to the scene. I could not miss the opportunity to paint it in watercolours. The little boats from the village are usually pulled up on to the beach and this is the first time I have seen a boat moored here so conveniently. The original painting is for sale. On Dec. 4, 1872, The Mary Celeste was discovered, her crew vanished without a trace of a struggle, the ship still fully provisioned. It still remains a mystery. A final log entry, on Nov. 24, showed no hint of distress. The cabin of Capt. Benjamin Briggs was untouched, right down to the parlor melodeon belonging to his wife and daughter; the child's ghostly indentation remained visible on a bed.

Glass lamps used to light up the night sky for Hong Kong's fishermen. Since the 19th century, Aberdeen emerged as one of the most important fishing ports in Hong Kong. In the past two decades, the population of the Aberdeen Floating Village community has decreased due to rapid fisheries development in the nearby Guangdong Province and the increase in operating costs of the fishing industry in Hong Kong. Presently, the majority of the boat people use the boat to fish during the day instead of making it their permanent abode. Most of the descendants of the floating people have chosen to relocate to high-rise accommodations on dry land.

Staithes at Dusk, Staithes is a seaside village in the Scarborough Borough of North Yorkshire, England. Roxby Beck, a stream running through Staithes, is the border between the Borough of Scarborough and Redcar and Cleveland.

Petty Harbour–Maddox Cove is one of many communities in small harbours along the Eastern coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. It's community of under 1,000 is mainly engaged in fishing off the coast and has existed for around 200 years. The colourful buildings bring a sense of joy to the place.
