The West Virginia Ordnance Works (WVOW) was an ordnance manufacturing facility constructed and operated by the US Army during World War II. Located just outside of Point Pleasant, West Virginia in Mason County, the 8,323 acre facility produced trinitrotoluene (TNT) based munitions. The facility had a design capacity of 720,000 pounds of TNT per 24-hour period, and operated 7 days a week, 3 shifts per day. TNT production was suspended at the facility in August 1945, following the end of the war, and the facility was transferred from the War Department to War Assets Admin. in late 1946. Now known as the 'TNT Area,' the land has been repurposed for public use, and is where the first known sighting of the "Mothman" occurred in November 1966.

The 59th Ordnance Brigade is a military unit of the United States Army. The unit is currently stood up as the U.S. Army Ordnance School's training brigade. In its previous iteration, the brigade had more than 6,500 soldiers. It was responsible for storage, delivering, maintaining, Nuclear and Chemical Control Orders, and supervising the weapons of mass destruction ("special ammo" of Nuclear and Chemical Munitions) for U.S. Forces and Forces of the Allied NATO-Countries, except France.

A beautifully restored reproduction of the original World War 2 vintage poster for the Woman Ordnance Worker (WOW). During WWII, women were needed on the homefront in order for men to head off to war and recruitment for women to work in the factories was extremely necessary. This poster shows a woman worker standing behind "her man" even though he's overseas. This is also a reference to Rosie The Riveter as the woman is dressed in similar attire.
