The huge Duomo located in the Piazza dei Maracoli (Square of Miracles) in Pisa, Tuscany, Italy. The Duomo is 100 yards long, with a massive nave, flanked by two aisles and 68 monolithic columns, in the Romanesque style. The pulpit, considered by many as the most beautiful in Italy, was carved by Giovanni Pisano, who also did much of the carving in the baptistry. The roots of Certified Freight Logistics (CFL) can be traced back to 1928 when Arroyo Grande Truck Co. (AGTC) was founded in Arroyo Grande, California. With a fleet of ten trucks, AGTC specialized in getting fresh produce to market. In 1952, AGTC was purchased by Edwin Nelson, an owner operator, and his brother-in-law Edwin Taylor, an Arroyo Grande farmer. The two Edwins grew AGTC by purchasing other trucking companies, and in 1963, merged with Fitzgerald Truck Service, becoming Certified Freight Lines. 20 years later, CFL had grown to 30 trucks and five yards, all while specializing in refrigerated transportation throughout California and the West Coast. As of 2008, CFL had grown to over 150 trucks, and became Certified Freight Logistics.

Looking towards the Grand Canal and Santa Maria Della Cathedral in the early morning in Venice, Italy. A bit of history on the cathedral .... In 1630, Venice experienced an unusually devastating outbreak of the plague. As a votive offering for the city's deliverance from the pestilence, the Republic of Venice vowed to build and dedicate a church to Our Lady of Health (or of Deliverance, Italian: Salute). The church was designed in the then fashionable baroque style by Baldassare Longhena, who studied under the architect Vincenzo Scamozzi. Construction began in 1631. Most of the objects of art housed in the church bear references to the Black Death.

Florence's Duomo is the city's most iconic landmark. Capped by Filippo Brunelleschi's red-tiled cupola, it's a staggering construction whose breathtaking pink, white and green marble facade and graceful campanile (bell tower) dominate the medieval cityscape. Sienese architect Arnolfo di Cambio began work on it in 1296, but construction took almost 150 years and it wasn't consecrated until 1436. I took this photo on a visit there and gave it a painterly treatment in CC and Topaz.

Mary became pregnant as a virgin and gave birth to Jesus in a stable. She saw the signs that he would be important and kept everything in her heart. Mary saw the ministry of Jesus. After he was resurrected, she and her other children joined the other disciples in their work of proclaiming the gospel and praying. Mary never called attention to herself or wanted glory. She knew that all honor and glory belong to Jesus. It is good to follow Mary's recommendation: "do whatever he (Jesus) tells you".

The Eastern Door of the Baptistry of the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, that is, the cathedral church (Duomo) of Florence, Italy. This is the masterpiece of Ghiberti, who worked on it for 27 years, lavishing on it all the richness of his imagination, combined with a fine sense of composition and profound knowledge of the modeller's art. Michelangelo defined the door as fit to be the "gate of Paradise". The door, a universally admired masterpiece, has ten panels depicting Biblical scenes. At the centre of the door at left is the self-portrait of Ghiberti. The door's original gilding has recently been recovered from beneath the patina formed over the centuries. It was badly damaged by Florence's flood in 1966 when the waters of the Arn...
