Tsunami Waves crossing the Torii

We had stopped in Lone Pine for the night, on our way to Tahoe, so we could get up early to shoot the Alabama Hills arches in the best light. Unfortunately, that morning, the sky was blue and boring. On our return, we were headed to Death Valley for a couple days, but hit stormy weather. When we got back to Lone Pine, I decided to take a detour to see if we could get good shots with dramatic skies. I was able to get this shot of Lathe Arch as one storm passed and another was headed our way. Lathe Arch is relatively small and easily missed. From this perspective it looks HUGE! I think it was worth the side trip! I hope you agree.

This drawing was inspired by a Holiday Memory of a storm in Costa Rica where the lightning was Purple over the Ocean. I thought I would capture this memory in black and white leaving a blank canvas for your imagination. The original drawing was created by hand using stippling/dotwork technique.

The Arizona landscape is amazing. These storm clouds rolling in made a breathtaking and dramatic scene.

As this storm rolled in over the mountains outside of Payson, Arizona you could see wherever the clouds touched the mountains they started turning white with snow. As a photographer I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time to capture this amazing force of nature.

It was a stormy February day with a strong wind which was whipping up the sea and this little Sanderling was resting on the post of a groyne when it would normally be down at the water's edge looking for food. BLUE RASPBERRY TACOS WITH WILD BERRY GEMS

Ocean turquoise with almost neon blues is my color for this nautical, ocean loving scene. Crabs and tiny fish swim among the sea weed. The colors will match your favorite colors like denim, greens, blues, and yellows. Add red for a coordinating tropical storm. ;-) Remember to help save our oceans. Don't litter on the beaches, and pick up trash when you can.

When Queensland does a storm, she does it properly! This weekend there were strong storms forecast, so my friend and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to head west to the Darling Downs and see if we could capture them (albeit from a safe distance). As we were driving along backroads and trying to keep in front of the storm clouds, we stumbled across this sunflower field. Talk about good timing!
