A candid shot of some lovely ladies taking a break from the summer heat in Siena, Tuscany, Italy. It was indeed hot too and I was taking a short break in the shade myself when I spotted these ladies. Only one spotted me taking the shot but I think it adds to the image. I treated the image to a bit of digital effects. Hope you like it.

We spent a week in a villa in Tuscany, located in an old olive orchard. The house was originally an olive mill, build of massive stone and nestled into the countryside. It was a stunning place of peace and serenity. Every evening we had a most delicious Italian dinner, cooked by one of the local women. A Florence, Italy design for all you Florence lake lovers out there!

Lake Trasimeno (Italian: Lago Trasimeno) is the largest lake on the Italian peninsula, part of the province of Perugia, in the Umbria region. The Lake is located in the south of the Po River and to the north of the nearby Tiber River, with a surface area of 128 sq km, slightly less than Lake Como. No major river flows directly into or out of Lake Trasimeno and the water level fluctuates significantly according to rainfall levels and the seasonal demands from the towns, villages and farms near the shore.

Taken last summer, Tuscany, Italy whilst walking near Castiglion Fibbochi. Not sure what berries they are. I solarised a layer in Photoshop CS6 and then changed its layer mode to Subtract, changing opacity to 75% to tone back the effect. This enriched the tones, restored highlights and deepened shadow areas, as well as boosting contrast and saturation.

The Val d'Orcia or Valdorcia is a region of Tuscany, central Italy, which extends from the hills south of Siena to Monte Amiata.

I spent two lovely years living in Florence, Italy, and I miss it so much. This design represents a beautiful piece of Italian architecture. Santo Spirito church sits at the head of the piazza of the same name. Michelangelo used to come here to dissect cadavers and draw them.
