About the animal: Giant Otter, Pteronura brasiliensis IUCN Status- Endangered Their diet consists of predominantly fish. They can be up to a meter tall when stood up, and are incredible and Giles swimmers. They have light splotchy pattern on their throat that is unique and canbe used to identify them. About the animal: Eastern Black Rhino- Diceros bicornis michaeli IUCN Status- Critically Endangered Roughly 700 remain in the wild. Lives in Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. Black rhinos have an excellent sense of smell, though very bad eyesight! Their feet have padded soles that act like cushions for their high body weight- the average weight of an adult male is 1,100kg /2,300lbs. Their claws are retractable and they have a false thumb for grip whilst climbing. Scientists have now discovered there are actually two species of Red Panda, using genetic testing- the Chinese Red Panda, and the Himalayan Red Panda. About the animal: Leafcutter Ant Leafcutter ants can lift 50x their own body weight. Leafcutter ants do not kill the plants they take from, they actually prune them. The leaves they collect are to feed and cultivate a fungus only found in Leafcutter ant colonies. The ants actually feed on the fungus they grow and as such these ants can be classed as the tiniest farmers in the animal Kingdom.
