These wild flowers were spotted in Ridley Park, Blyth, Northumberland. The bed was planted in 2015 as part of a national scheme to encourage native English wild flowers and it now abundant with many colourful species.

This image was taken just after sunrise on a cool July morning capturing St Mary's Island and Lighthouse behind a mass of wild flowers. The island and lighthouse are situated just north of Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear in the North East of England.

My favourite season of all time would be spring / summer. I feel like as with many people this year I've missed out on a season so I've taken myself off somewhere in my imagination. I hope that when you look at this piece it also transports you to somewhere wonderful.

The sweet scented English dog rose is a common sight in the hedgerows and a sure sign that summer is on its way. This example was photographed near Holywell Pond, Northumberland.

Masses of these lovely water lilies are growing wild in an old reservoir near Blyth in Northumberland on the North East coast of England and provide a beautiful splash of colour and almost translucent flowers in summertime.

A carpet of Spring bluebells growing amongst the trees is a sure sign you are in a centuries old woodland where people have wandered in the forest glades for hundreds of years, surrounded by the same bluebells we see today. If only they could talk!

An English wild flower meadow blooming in Summer

The English Bluebell flowers from April to late May, carpeting woodland with their beautiful flowers and filling the air with their sweet smell. This particular shot was taken in Northumberland, North East England on a lovely warm morning in May.

This clump of crocuses was spotted growing wild on Rocky Island, Seaton Sluice on the North East coast of England in the middle of February. A sure sign that spring is just around the corner

A beautiful cluster of the endangered species hyacinthoides non-scripta or common bluebells (English)

Sunlight through the woodland trees shines on a path showing a way through the bluebells in this Spring bluebell wood in County Durham. Bluebells are always a sign of ancient woodland. How many generations have walked this path in Spring ?
