Clinker Brick with Weeping Mortar Hoodie

Clinker bricks are produced when wet clay bricks are exposed to excessive heat during the firing process forming a shiny, dark-colored coating. Clinker brick have a blackened appearance and are often misshapen or split. The weeping joint is made by putting extra mortar on the bed joint and pressing down on the brick to get the cement to weep out.
