About the animal: Eastern Black Rhino- Diceros bicornis michaeli IUCN Status- Critically Endangered Roughly 700 remain in the wild. Lives in Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa. Black rhinos have an excellent sense of smell, though very bad eyesight! Their feet have padded soles that act like cushions for their high body weight- the average weight of an adult male is 1,100kg /2,300lbs.
