Our little roommates - the gut microbiome Hoodie

The design shows intestinal bacteria as you can see them (maybe not quite as colorful) under the microscope. Our body is a habitat for a large number of bacteria and other microorganisms. In particular, those roommates who settle in our intestines play a key role in our well-being. Bacteria make up the bulk of the human microbiome. Archaea, fungi and viruses are also part of the microbiome. The gut microbiome is often referred to as the "forgotten organ" because it takes on important functions in the body. The intestinal microbes process nutrients, protect against pathogens, influence the immune system and can influence the body in many ways via connections to the brain. © Claudia Böttcher | www.colorofmagic.design
