The sandy bay at Cullercoats in the North East of England is enclosed by two small piers. Cullercoats was once a thriving fishing village in the early 1800s and is now home to the Dove Marine Laboratory (Newcastle University) and an RNLI Lifeboat station. This image was taken from the middle of the beach between the two piers just after sunrise on a cold morning just before Christmas and has been re-worked to provide a bigger file size for better quality prints.
