The Pinto Stores in Valletta, Malta were commissioned by Grand Master Pinto in the 1750s at the height of the 'Baroque Movement' . These warehouses were used for the storage of silk, dried fruits and olive oil going westwards, and for the storage of food and arms arriving in port. The warehouses were rented to local merchants and European agents. The area was bombed during the second World War and were re-constructed together with the ancient seawall which was originally built by the Knights of Saint John. There is a similar image available with a panorama crop.
