The Sun Says its Goodbye, Bayfield Hoodie

This image, originally captured on film, is of the Sun setting over Lake Huron. My vantage point was Pioneer Park in Bayfield, Ontario. Sunsets are a bit of a spectator sport in Bayfield. All along the cliff that overlooks the lake, people gather in the hope of seeing something splendid. It's the clouds that can create the spectacle, be they strongly backlit with golden edges or deeply black when already shaded by other clouds. The slow but ever-changing interplay of the sunlight with the clouds provides not one image but a progression of awe.
