designed and sold by Pixelchicken
A World War One National Egg Collection for the Wounded propaganda poster, illustrated by R.G. Praill, with an image of a hen wearing a sash decorated with a crown and a leg band. The National Egg Collection ran between November 1914 and March 1919. Over 41 million eggs were collected in special boxes and transported for free on the railway to wounded soldiers. People were encouraged to send 'eggograms' by writing messages on their eggs and they would often receive a thank you letter in return explaining how the eggs had boosted morale.
