I crated this from a photograph I took of the WW2 memorial on the River Thames in London, in honor of the brave pilots who courageously defeated the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain.

Hawker Hurricane Mk 1

Hawker Hurricane R4118 coded UP-W No. 605 Squadron flew 40 Comabt Sorties and scored 5 Victories. It is the only currently airworthy Hurricane which actually flew during the Battle of Britain. 605 Squadron was formed on 5 October 1926 at RAF Castle Bromwich and their motto is Nunquam Dormio "I Never Sleep". It was one of the most successful participants of the Battle of Britain.

When I was kid the defiant was the very first Airfix model had and at some point after that I build a Bristol Blenheim Mk 4. I knew nothing about planes than but since I have been luck enough to spend a fair amount of time around the newly restored Mk1 at Duxford. It had a rough time during the war and when you see it up close it looks obsolete by late WW2 standards. Slow and poorly defended it look much more at home at an airshow that on a bombing run. Still a very beautiful aircraft all the same.

Hawker Hurricane Mk 1

A vector picture of the British World War 2 heavy fighter airplane, the legendary Bristol Type 156 Beaufighter, which was used by the British during World War II. Any military aviation and WW2 enthusiast would appreciate such a gift.

LF363 has been painted to represent Hurricane Mk 1 P3395 ‘JX-B’, the personal aircraft of Sergeant Pilot Arthur ‘Darkie’ Clowes DFM, of No 1 Squadron, during the Battle of Britain. Clowes’ Hurricane had a fearsome looking wasp painted on both sides of the nose.

Tally-ho is the traditional cry made by the huntsman to tell others the quarry has been sighted. It was also used by Royal Air Force fighter pilots in the Second World War to tell their controller they were about to engage enemy aircraft.

This beautiful and rugged aircraft is a Hawker Sea Hurricane possessing modifications making it suitable for maritime operations. I captured the moment an exhausted pilot rests on the wing and a concerned ground crew member offers the pilot a much needed sandwich and cup of tea. The plane has taken a few hits but true to its nature it's brought the pilot home safely. The real thing can be seen at the Shuttleworth Collection, UK.
