A graphic print series inspired by music that’s meant a lot to me over the years.

Kirkstall Abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery in Kirkstall north-west of Leeds city centre in West Yorkshire, England. It is set in a public park on the north bank of the River Aire. It was founded c.1152.

A skyline of Leeds. This image struck me after I had downloaded it onto my computer as it shows the evolution of the city. There is the Victorian buildings in the foreground, the roof of the Corn Exchange mid frame then more modern skyscraper type buildings towering over the rest of the city. Like sentinels overlooking the city. Canon 70D f/13 1/200 ISO 100 EV -1 Evaluative Metering focal length 18 mm Single frame, processed initially in Camera RAW (ACR), the clarity and saturation was tweaked and to get the best possible image data availabe the crop tool in ACR was used to crop the original image into a panoramic frame. Arthington Viaduct

The edge of Leeds City not far from the Train Station has lain empty for many years awaiting re-development which was stalled from around 2008 till 2015 due to the economic downturn. But recently building activity has started again as this image taken in 2015 shows. The older building is Listed and so remains whilst new modern complimentary buildings rise around it. I like the juxtaposition of this image and there was enough interest in the sky to help this shot work in mono. The process that I put this image through was to take it into Adobe Raw and use the Transform tool to stop the buildings look as though they are leaning backwards. High Royds Hospital is a former psychiatric hospital south of the village of Menston, West Yorkshire, England. The hospital is located within in the City of Leeds metropolitan borough and was first opened on 8 October 1888 as the West Riding Pauper Lunatic Asylum. The hospital closed in 2003 and the site has since been developed for residential use, some of which is in the old hospital buildings.

Taken from the roof of a nearby car park I took this with the intention of trying out the tilt shift effect. (You can see the still under construction of the John Lewis Store in the background). I processed a single frame in Photoshop ACR, enhancing the clarity and saturation and making sure there were no highlights blown out, which needed a small teak with the highlights slider. No other filters were used other than the tilt shift blur filter in Photoshop. Canon 70D f/9.0 1/200 ISO 400 AWB Evaluative Metering 10-18mm STM IS Lens set at 18 mm.

I saw this super flame red retro racer on the Woodrup stand at Bespoke London 2014. The Woodrup family have been building beautiful bikes for half a century in Leeds UK. I particularly enjoyed painting the distinctive coat of arms crest and the Campagnolo groupset. Sid Barras and Barry Hoban are amongst the notable UK racing cyclists who have ridden Woodrup bikes. This acrylic painting on canvas is painted on the sides and comes with fixtures and fittings ready to hang directly on the wall with or without a frame. It has a high gloss varnish finish, it's signed on the front and back and is supplied with a certificate of authenticity. It will be insured and shipped in a securely packed in a sturdy protective box.
