Stormy Flow is a meditation on the relation between light and dark. It is stormy because creation is happening. I can take heart in the turmoil and even violence because I know creation often is in process there. The light breaks up the darkness. The first stage in this composition was a spontaneous expression with oil pastels. Years later I have added digital dry brush.

Sunrise over the Scares - a group of rocks in Luce bay near Mull of Galloway, Scotland. The Scares. Big Scare, a 69 feet tall rock, and the three companion islets are called the Little Scares and are located around half a mile from it. The islands are part of Luce Bay and Sands Special Area of Conservation and are leased to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. A colour version of the photograph is also available.

This unique illustration features two skulls that come together to form a yin yang pattern. The skulls are exact opposites of each other creating a stunning and balanced yin yang design.

A Glimpse

Lockdown? A unique situation: everybody all around the world at home and as to me: I got nothing to do except for painting and sketching but hey that is what we artists do all the time. So I do not feel like in a lock-down, even though all dinner parties and drinks with friends are postponed. Now you feel what artists feel! De Hofvijver Busy during the daytime with my new Frida Kahlo painting I fill the evenings with drawing. I browsed through my reference pictures and I remember saving this one I took of De Hofvijver (The Court’s Pond) at The Hague. I liked doing an impressionistic one again, keeping a rather rough edge.
